8 days of vibrant and challenging walking in Italy & Switzerland staying at Alpine refuges
Service Description
Itinerary: 1. Orsieres to Rifugio Frasatti 2. Rifugio Frasatti to Rifugio Champillon 3. Rifugio Champillon to Mauvisson 4. Mauvisson to Refuge Panossiere 5. Refuge Panossiere to Refuge Col Mille 6. Refuge Col Mille to Bourg St Pierre & Niord 7. Niord to Cabane Tsissette 8. Cabane Tsissette to La Fouly & Orsieres Meet & start from Orsieres train station. Head to Col Grand St Bernard. Trek to Rifugio Frasatti. Have dinner and stay the night in this lovely Italian rifugio. The following day walk to Rifugio Champillon through the Italian Alps through stunning countrside. Trek up to the Swiss border via 3 glacial lakes, go down and around to Mauvisson via a lakeside track and the tunnels. Sleep in Mauvisson. Walk to the Grand Combin and Glacier Corbassiere and enjoy the spectacular scenery enroute and on arrival see the spectacular Swiss Alps close up. Enjoy the superb Refuge Panossiere. The following day walk to Col Mille to enjoy the views of the Mont Blanc Massif mountains. Descend to Bourg Saint Pierre and go up to Niord. Go along a beautiful and peaceful woodland path to reach Bavon rocks and go up to Cabanne Tsissette in Combe de l'A. Walk through Combe de l'A and up to Col du Neve de la Rousse and Lacs Fenetre, or via Basset depending on group/weather, then head down to La Fouly, and return to Orsieres.
