Start in Chamonix - start outside Chamonix train station Gare SNCF Chamonix. End in Chamonix at the ski lift for Aiguille de Midi mountain . Opt for this fabulous French 1/2 Tour Mont Blanc product. A walk along the French peaks on delightful foot paths from Switzerland through France to the Italian border. Over 6 fabulous days see views of Mont Blanc from Switzerland, Le Brevent, Bellevue and the Italian border from just under the Mont Blanc. Possibly the finest view point is from Bellevue for an up close view from a flat plateau. See the delightful French Alps high high above Chamonix valley using 2 ski lifts enroute. Trek for 1/2 a day in Switzerland and 4.5 days in France. All lifts, food & accommodation included (6 days and 6 nights). 6 days of carrying a back pack for all your mountain trekking needs with 2 alpine ski lifts included. Accommodation is 3 & 4 star hotels & alpine huts - dinner, bed & breakfast, picnic lunches & stop at French restaurants. ITINERARY: Day 1. Start in Chamonix town centre. Head to Swiss border and go up the fantastic Verticalp funicular to see Mont Blanc from Switzerland, trek into France on French foot paths into the Chamonix valley, views of Mont Blanc for most of the way. Day 2. See Mont Blanc from Le Brevent and trek over to Aiguilles Les Houches and down to Les Houches for a hotel night. Day 3. Take Bellevue Funicular up to see Mont Blanc close up from the French side, walk across to Les Contamines and towards Col de Bonhomme. 4. Head towards Italy via the tiny mountain community of Chapieux. Walk up to Refuge Robert Blanc. 5. Visit the Italian border and then return to Les Contamines. 6. Loop around from Contamines to Chamonix. Verticalp transport you up high in Switzerland and then you enter into France on French paths to see mountain in Chamonix valley, go along to Aiguilette Les Houches. Visit Les Contamines nature reserve and go up to Col Bonhomme with the aim of the Italian border, look into Italy and see the derriere of Mont Blanc / Monte Bianco before descending down in France. This trip does the entire French section. Rucksacks are carried by trekkers so this 1/2 Mont Blanc Tour so remains a challenge even though only 6 days and shorter than Tour Mont Blanc. Rucksacks must include emergency biviv bag, synthetic sleeping bag for an overnight stay in the mountains in case of an emergency, food, drink & personal items.
