Start & Finish in Chamonix. Go clockwise. Includes a relaxing hotel with roof top jacuzzi and spa in Chamonix. Itinerary does depends on late Spring snow falls so itinerary can change. Sleep in alpine mountain refuges & 4 star hotels, and always carry a bivvibag & sleeping bag for mountain emergencies required by all participants in case of an unforeseen eventuality like landslide. Itinerary: Day 1: Chamonix to Col de Balme (in France and over border into Switzerland) Day 2: Col de Balme to Champex Lake (in Switzerland) Day 3: Champex Lake to Val Ferret (in Switzerland) Day 4: Val Ferret to Courmayeur (in Switzerland and over border into Italy) Day 5: Courmayeur to Chapieux (in Italy and over border into France) Day 6: Chapieux to Les Contamines (in France) Day 7: Les Contamines to Les Houches (in France) Day 8: Les Houches to Le Brevent, Chamonix (in France) Day 9: Lac Blanc and back to Chamonix (in France) Summary: The Mont Blanc Massif is predominantly a granite mountain that sits between France, Italy, and Switzerland. The circular Tour Mont Blanc walk goes around the granite and enters 3 different countries. It goes around the Mont Blanc Massif, it does not summit the Mont Blanc itself, it is a trek/hike/walk done with a rucksack. Foot paths go up, down, around. It can be exhilarating, steep, gentle, flat, dry, hot, humid, wet, cold, windy, foggy, snowy. Be mentally prepared for it. Should you do it? Most definitely. It's a beautiful all body work out with fabulous views of mountains. The walk requires 9 days of sustained effort on foot paths that are very challenging and often full of cows or trekkers. The walk is a beautiful journey with great views of the granite mountains. By the end you feel wonderful from the physical energy expended.
