Like a yellow rocket heading for outer space this stunning specimen is deserved of a mention. The leaves are large, long, somewhat pointed at the end and benefit from a cotton cover to protect them from the elements which leaves a very velvety feel to them. The flower head is a prominent probe of yellow and purple joy straight out of the 1970s which once in flower remains in place for a surprisingly amount of time, until it flowers it is a grey green colour.
Height can be up to 1 meter although sometimes shorter. Altitude is low to medium and it lives mostly in alpine meadows and on hills rather than mountains.
Medicinal uses include asthma and flu.
