FIRST AID CONSENT, PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL OPINION AND ASSISTANCE
Limitations of the Company:
The Company, the International Mountain Leader, known as a walking leader or trek leader, is limited in their ability to assist you as they are not medically qualified professionals and you accept that they may not provide professional medical opinions nor professional medical assistance nor be able to save your life if it is in danger or if you are dying, and you, nor anyone you know or who is responsible for you, do not hold the Company responsible for such an inconvenience or eventuality. The Company expresses their sincerest condolences in advance of any such unfortunate circumstances for which they cannot be held responsible for and naturally express their heart felt sympathies for anyone impacted by such an unfortunate situation or ending.
All MontBlancTrips requires participants to be healthy enough to participate as no extra assistance is provided by the Company to do a walk, please consult the walking categories for a definition of the walking category of your trip and to understand the activity level (distance, altitude, height gain, steepness, pace, terrain) involved and consult a doctor if uncertain about your ability to participate. If you require a professional medical opinion, please consult a doctor or a medical professional before booking, to help you decide if a walking product is right for you.
Your doctor can provide an opinion on your given state of health, for example if you are currently injured, under going medical treatment for any reason or if you are pregnant.
The International Mountain Leader has a professional expedition leadership and walking qualification that permits them to lead and walk with a group of client in the mountains but you will not receive medical opinion or treatment or professional medical treatment from them from the International Mountain Leader on your trip.
A Client can give consent to receive First Aid. Or a Client can decline First Aid Assistance but withdrawing consent for First Aid assistance is not advised by the Company but your wishes are naturally respected but this can put your life at risk if you need First Aid in the mountains and decline it.
If you accept the Terms & Conditions you give consent to best endeavours attempts at first aid to save your life if help is to hand without passing any liability to the Company or the International Mountain Leader.
A First Aid pair of hands may be useful. For the sake of clarity you will need to get personal accident and medical cover for your own medical and travel insurance needs needs for your trip, refer to the suggested types of insurance cover under "Insurance".
You can wait for professional medical assistance to arrive if you prefer, but you may bleed to death whilst waiting if you are seriously injured.
Waiting for evacuation to arrive, to be carried, to be transported out of the mountains, to somewhere else where you can get professional medical assistance from a medical professional is ideal and great but it takes time, and you might die in the meantime.
Your are requested to provide consent to receive first aid if you wish to receive first aid in the mountain on your MontBlancTrip by the International Mountain Leader as part of their Civil Duty towards you (to try to stop you dying) or decline consent regarding first aid assistance from the International Mountain Leader to clarify your wishes to only have medical professional help and declining requires an email to info@montblanctrips.com. The default position on accepting the Terms & Conditions is to accept first aid assistance whilst agreeing not to take legal action against the first aider offering assistance who is trying to help you not die.
This can also be done if you have a accident whilst out walking, this is for the sake of clarity to allow a client to make a personal choice about First Aid assistance in the mountains from the International Mountain Leader, when in a mountain environment you will be far from a hospital, doctor or medical intervention so this is something to think about in advance. For example a first aider may, or may not, be able to stop you bleeding to death by administering first aid if you gash your body on a rock and have a long deep cut.
The International Mountain leader has a professional duty of care to you, and a civil responsibility to you and they may be able to assist you if injured (prior to emergency services arriving) with first aid, if you do not wish this your wishes are respected, so please decline to give consent to First Aid in person at the time or in advance if you would only want a medical officer to treat you or administer first aid on you by sending an email to info@montblanctrips.com. Be clear if you do not wish to receive First Aid and do not give your consent, otherwise give consent and accept this as normal at the Checkout by ticking the box for First Aid help.
Please note that initially people may arrive to simply intervene for transportation purposes and take you to a hospital so you can get some medical expertise later on, in which case First Aid in the mountains may be invaluable in saving life, and prevent further decline, but this is your personal choice hence the First Aid Consent question.
The Company is not a provider of First Aid services or training although the International Mountain Leader has a priority duty of care to look after their Group especially if an accident happens and asks a Client for their consent to do First Aid if useful to the Client.
Client Consent given for First Aid Provision when booking
A First Aider will always ask you first if you wish to give consent before doing First Aid if you get injured or are unwell, so you can provide consent or decline at the time. You have the right to change your mind at any time although this assumes you are conscious and breathing and able to communicate.
.When booking via the website www.montblanctrips.com you can decline First Aid in advance by sending an email to info@montblanctrips.com but ordinarily on booking you are giving consent to First Aid by the International Mountain Leader if there is a need to as you may be unconscious.
First Aid is especially useful if you are choking, haemorrhaging blood, having a heart attack, become unconscious, having difficulty breathing or stop breathing with the aim of preventing death. When booking via the MontBlancTrips App you tick a box to consent to First Aid and you can decline by sending an email to info@montblanctrips.com if you wish.
A walk leader known as the International Mountain Leader has a duty of care to look after their group but the Client recognises they are not professionally medically qualified .
A Client understands the International Mountain Leader (IML) is willing to offer First Aid as part of their personal Civil Responsibility to another human being and other people enroute, and especially to fulfil a Duty of Care to people in the walking group.
EMAIL REQUIRED IN ADVANCE TO DECLINE FIRST AID IF NOT PROVIDING PERSONAL CONSENT TO RECEIVE FIRST AID - Send to info@montblanctrips.com

I have decided to opt out of receiving First Aid and I do not give consent for First Aid. I confirm this as part of the booking process by sending an email to info@montblanctrips.com
I……“NAME OF PERSON"………decline the offer of First Aid in advance. I withdraw my consent for First Aid because .......”REASON”......E.g. I work as nurse, paramedic, doctor and I am medically trained myself and I work as a .............. ”JOB / PROFESSION” .............
I have taken independent insurance cover for my eventual emergency medical needs, I negate the Company of any responsibility both legally or practically for First Aid and/or Medical Assistance.

I understand that this decision is my personal choice but may result in my death if blood is haemorrhaging from my body or if I am having a heart attack and require CPR, but for some perhaps unknown reason I have declined this offer of First Aid assistance.
Therefore, I, nor anyone I know, can nor will take legal action against the International Mountain Leader or the Company regarding my death, including for Assisting Dying, and I provide this information in advance for their legal protection to give to the Authorities as evidence that I declined First Aid as a matter of personal preference for some unknown reason unless clarified above / in my email to MontBlancTrips.
I prefer to manage all medical intervention myself and / or using another person named here who is travelling with me .........on the MontBlancTrip, and they are contactable on this number............
I have decided to opt out of giving consent for First Aid prior to booking, and I confirm this in advance as part of the booking process by sending this email outlining my wish not to receive First Aid to info@montblanctrips.com
Yours sincerely,
